Myopia Management

Nearsightedness is caused by the lengthening of the eye, usually in childhood. As nearsightedness increases, overall risk for eye disease also increase, including glaucoma, retinal detachment, and macular degeneration.

Using Myopia Management contact lenses prescribed at our office, we are able to reduce the progression of myopia in children by up to 60%. We have successfully fit patients as young as 8 years old in contact lenses, and as old as 17 in Myopia Management lenses.

Anti-fatigue, or bifocal, eyeglass lenses have also shown a reduction in nearsightedness progression in children.
